An independent, evidence-based recognition directory
Character deserves recognition.
Discover public figures whose actions demonstrate integrity, accountability, and moral courage. Recognition here is earned through documented conduct, never through reputation, popularity, or the absence of scandal.
The first recognitions are in editorial review.
Every profile on this site passes a documented review of independently sourced conduct before it is published, and a person is always the final approver. Profiles will appear here as they clear that review. In the meantime you can read how recognition is earned or nominate someone.
How recognition is earned
A standard, not a popularity contest
- 1
Nominated
Anyone can nominate a living actor, athlete, or astronaut. Nominations stay private and are never published, whatever their outcome.
- 2
Under review
Researchers gather independently documented examples of conduct, record every source, and check for substantiated disqualifying misconduct.
- 3
Recognized
An editor applies our published rubric and records a decision. Only then is a profile published, with its evidence and sources in full view.
What we look for
- ARelationship IntegrityDemonstrated respect for romantic relationships and personal commitments: honesty with partners, honoring agreed commitments, respecting the boundaries of others, and accountability when commitments are broken.
- BPersonal IntegrityHonesty and truthfulness, keeping commitments, taking responsibility for mistakes, treating others fairly, and consistency between stated values and actual conduct.
- CProfessional IntegrityEthical conduct in the workplace: fair treatment of colleagues and subordinates, avoidance of harassment and abuse of power, honesty in professional representations, and appropriate handling of conflicts of interest.
- DMoral CourageDocumented instances of defending someone vulnerable, challenging wrongdoing, accepting personal or professional consequences for doing the right thing, or showing principled leadership under pressure.
- ERespect for OthersCompassion and empathy, respect toward people regardless of status, fairness and inclusion, constructive contributions to communities, and responsible treatment of people with less power or influence.
Our philosophy
Integrity is demonstrated, not declared.
Character is shown through actions, not public relations. Private conduct matters alongside professional conduct, and the same fundamental standards apply to everyone.
Fame, wealth, accomplishment, and popularity do not excuse unethical behavior. Honesty, fidelity to commitments, accountability, and respect for others are the qualities we recognize.
Recognition requires affirmative evidence, not merely the absence of negative information. People can learn, change, and demonstrate growth, and we say so when the record shows it.
Not being included does not mean someone is unethical. It means we have not completed a review, or the public record does not yet contain what our standard requires.
